Personnel who are expected to stop, contain, and clean up on-site emergency releases are required to have 24 hours of initial training. Personnel who are involved in cleanups at waste sites, including Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites or voluntary cleanups involving hazardous substances must have 40 hours of initial classroom instruction. Each HAZMAT employee must also receive annual refresher training.

HAZMAT TRANSPORTATION/EPA HAZARDOUS WASTE
MANAGEMENT TRAINING
Environmental Options, Inc. is proud to offer a Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Training Course to satisfy the requirements of 49 CFR §172 Subpart H and an EPA Hazardous Waste Management Training Course to satisfy the requirements of the EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) in 49 CFR Part 262.
This course is not for transportation firms only! All persons including warehouse and office workers involved with packaging, storing, labeling, marking, loading, unloading, or signing shipping papers for transportation are required to be trained. Both large quantity and small quantity generators of hazardous waste are required by 49 CFR Part 262.34(a)(4) and (d)(5)(iii) to ensure that employees are thoroughly familiar with proper hazardous waste management and emergency procedures relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and emergencies. In addition, personnel of large quantity generators must take part in an annual review of the initial training.
Each HazMat employee must receive update training at least every three years.
